Linda KellettAs I read blog postings by our leading local officials and some of their more articulate and reflective critics, I am struck by the contrast between their collective zeal and LOVE for the city of Amsterdam and their differing viewpoints, which are so polarizing. If we can't reach a meeting of the minds at the local level of government, what hope is there on any level?
If you read the histories of the Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention you will find similar polarizing conflicts. Healthy, vigorous and reasoned debate is good for communities at all levels, as annoying as it may be.
